4. Agenda Items
Establishment of Primary Six
The Director advised parents to consider their children’s maturity level, not only academically but also socially. He emphasized that setting up Primary Six is important, as the current computer age shows that pupils at that level are mature enough to perform well academically and socially.
Mrs. Ani Gloria supported this position and encouraged parents to support the Primary Six class to help pupils build confidence and avoid intimidation or bullying among peers.
Speech and Prize-Giving Day
Mrs. Ani stated that the prize-giving aspect of the event is compulsory and that all prizes and incentives should be properly handled.
Teachers were also advised to mind the language they use so that pupils can improve their spoken English and avoid substandard expressions.
5. Contributions from Parents
Mrs. Maryline Ogbonna
She asked whether Primary Six is compulsory according to the Ministry of Education and stated that if it is compulsory, it should not be optional.
She also emphasized the need for management to take proper care of teachers to aid staff retention.
She suggested that the end-of-year party should be compulsory and that phonics learning should begin from crèche.
Mrs. Abiola
She stated that graduation fees should not be compulsory for non-graduating pupils.
She also suggested that teachers should receive training across different departments and raised concerns about pupils being given assignments on topics they had not understood.
Mrs. Stanley Chukwuwa
She raised concerns about difficulty accessing pupils’ results and noted that frequent changes of teachers affect pupils’ learning process.
Mrs. Chika
She advised that children with communicable diseases should not be allowed into the school or classroom to prevent the spread of infections.
6. Any Other Business (AOB)
Mrs. Ani advised teachers to teach pupils in a more understandable and practical manner, using visible examples to aid learning.

Parents were advised not to over-speed pupils academically, citing an example of a 6-year-old pupil in Primary 3.
